The mission of KCBI: To faithfully send forth the Word of God so that it will accomplish His purpose in the hearts and lives of those who receive it.
Welcome to the KCBI "Insider." Your look into what God is doing in February 2010 at your listener-supported KCBI.

I wanted to send you a note of thanks to you and KCBI for the opportunity to be "First in Line" with Charles Stanley last Saturday. Meeting him and other believers was such a blessing. Also it was exciting to see the turnout for a Christian author and is a testimony to Barnes & Noble and all the customers there. I also want to thank you all as you bless me everyday in my car and at work; especially so early in the morning when we, who are awake at this time, have to go to work or take care of family. May you all at KCBI continue to be blessed!

I am so glad and uplifted by the focus and request for prayers this morning for Haiti. I love you the way you bring the total Godly perspective to bear on this situation. I heard Dr. Robert Jeffress encouraging view from the Word of God, blending the music to be uplifting as well as praising the Name of the Living God and giving us those organizations that are helping those in Haiti that we can support. Thank you for this and be relevant to our daily world and our daily lives. It is true we are the hands, feet, arms and eyes of God in His earth. Christ be gloried.

My name is Donald and I was, and still am, an avid fan of It's A New Day. I came to know of KCBI and the show when I was incarcerated at Dawson State Jail in Dallas, serving a 5-year sentence. Those were very dark days and nights for me, and I'd wish many nights that I could email you or have someone do it for me. Your show, the scriptures you read, the prayers you prayed, and the music you played, were SO Spirit inspired, it got me through some very difficult and sleepless nights. Suffice it to say, I feel like I know Jeff, personally.

I've been free now since last Friday at 12pm!! Praise God!! I still face many challenges ahead, with one of the issues you helped me through - My 10-year marriage - rebuilding it. So please continue to pray for me and all of those who are in prison for mistakes we've made. Specifically, pray for my wife as I have prayed for yours during her health battles, we have some difficult days ahead, however, we both know that ALL THINGS are possible......and work together for the good...in Him. Thanks for being my brother in Christ. God be with you, brother.

KCBI is a listener-supported radio ministry, and we thank the many who have given financially. Your dollars help fund God's work through KCBI. This is just a glimpse of what God is doing in the lives of those who listen or are in other ways touched by this radio station ... because you gave.

This month our “One-on-One” is our very own Rod Butler OR better known to our listeners as our famous “Bongo Rod!” Bongo Rod has been with KCBI for 11 years and he, along with everyone else at KCBI, just celebrated 10 years of LIVE Kid’s Radio on KCBI from KidZone to Coconut Hut.

Q: What is your favorite scripture?
A:
My life-verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. The first part says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” The longer I walk with the Lord, the more I’m learning that He wants to do things HIS WAY, which may not be “my way,” but is always the BEST WAY!

Q: What is your favorite book?
A
: “The Book of the Dun Cow” by Walter Wangerin, Jr. It’s an older NY Times bestseller, an epic parable telling the story of Chanticleer the Rooster and the dog Mundo Cani, and their battle to save the world from the evil Wyrm.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A:
It’s either The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, or Monsters, Inc. Well, no, maybe it’s Up. Wait, I think it’s The Incredibles. Or is it one of Laurel and Hardy’s films? Um, what was the question again?

Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A:
I was a high school junior at Army Navy Academy in Southern California, and very involved in the theater department. During rehearsal, I was waiting to go on stage, and my friend Brian asked me, “Butler, have you asked Jesus into your heart?” I said I wasn’t sure. He said, “Then you probably haven’t.” That night in my dorm room, on the top bunk, I sat up and opened the door of my heart, and Jesus Christ moved in. And I’ve never been the same.

Fun Fact:
OK, well, not many people know this, but I have several boxes full of Happy Meal Toys, a really fun collection. Kids down the street come by and give me their old ones, Moms clean out the mini-vans and my collection grows. So, next time you walk up to a garage sale, look through the ten cent toy items, and keep me in mind!

MOVIE
To Save a Life, PG13, - To Save a Life begins with one that wasn't. And sex, drugs, divorce and cutting make things worse … before they get better—by the grace of God and the choices of a few determined teens. The new teen -geared drama attempts to get young people and old to stop and think about how they treat those around them - how a life can be forever marred or encouraged simply by how it is treated by its peers. The story centers around Jake Taylor (Randy Wayne) who is the big man on his high school campus. Good with a basketball and even better with the ladies; he has it all. When a tragic event occurs involving a friend from his early childhood it rocks Jake's world and makes him start seeing that how we treat others can have a dire impact on the lives around us. His decision to choose people over popularity does not come without a cost. Suicide. Sex. Teen pregnancy. Divorce. Drugs. Cutting. Hypocrisy. To Save a Life isn't your typical Christian film. It deals with a host of weighty issues, but here's the key: It deals with them when some films—including some Christian ones—would rather make light of the topics or turn tail and run. MUSIC
Parents, check out the iShine artists. They have a current, cool, ‘tweenager-friendly" sound like you might find on Radio Disney, but they carry a redeemed, non-polluted message, encouraging kids to shine out their life for the Lord. Several iShine artists are pulled together on the “iShine All Stars” CD. It’s time to shine!
